About this Position
SportSpired Games is looking for a talented Middle Animator to help bring the athletes, characters, and cinematic moments of our next-generation AAA sports simulator to life.
SportSpired Games is an international game studio developing next-generation sports simulators. Our team includes professionals with experience at Wargaming, MY·GAMES, Ubisoft, 343 Industries, Starbreeze, Sperasoft and EA Sports. We’re building an ambitious AAA title slated for release in 2028-2029.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality character and cinematic animations that deliver believable performances and support gameplay goals
- Produce realistic and dynamic animations for player-facing features, gameplay sequences, and cinematic content
- Ensure animations meet artistic, technical, and gameplay requirements while maintaining a high level of polish
- Process, clean, refine, and integrate motion capture data into Unreal Engine 5
- Improve captured performances through animation polish and hand-keyed adjustments when necessary
- Collaborate closely with game designers, programmers, technical artists, and other animators to ensure seamless implementation and integration
- Participate in animation reviews and contribute ideas that improve animation quality and player experience
- Support the continuous improvement of animation workflows and production pipelines
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience as an Animator in the game industry
- Experience working with Unreal Engine 5 and animation systems within modern game engines
- Strong understanding of character animation principles, including body mechanics, weight, timing, posing, and performance
- Experience working with motion capture pipelines, including recording sessions, data cleanup, retargeting, and implementation
- Proven ability to create realistic animations for humanoid characters and facial performances
- Experience creating cinematic and narrative-driven animations for action-oriented, sports, or character-focused games
- Strong understanding of dynamic movement and physical performance, particularly in action, fighting, or sports-based gameplay
- Proficiency with industry-standard animation tools such as Maya, MotionBuilder, Blender, or similar software
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
