SportSpired Games is an international game studio developing next-generation sports simulators. Our team includes professionals with experience at Wargaming, MY·GAMES, The Walt Disney Company, Ubisoft, 343 Industries, Starbreeze, Sperasoft and EA Sports. We’re building an ambitious AAA title slated for release in 2028-2029.
Responsibilities
- Designing and tuning AI behaviours for teammates and opponents with a focus on tactical interaction, positioning and collaboration.
- Creating opponent AI that delivers strategic, challenging and adaptive gameplay experiences.
- Collaborating with programmers and designers to develop realistic AI models for a high-quality sports simulator.
- Optimising AI systems to ensure smooth gameplay and top performance across PC and console platforms.
- Iteratively testing and improving AI logic based on playtesting, analytics and team feedback.
- Working closely with programmers, animators and artists to ensure AI consistency with the game’s visual and technical execution.
- Contributing to the overall gameplay experience by adjusting and refining AI systems.
- Documenting AI mechanics, behaviours, and design changes in clear, maintainable design documents.
- Presenting ideas and design solutions to leads and stakeholders with clarity and rationale.
Requirements
- 4+ years' professional experience as a game designer, ideally with PC and console titles.
- Solid expertise with Unreal Engine, including Blueprints and related tools.
- At least two years' experience designing and implementing AI behaviours for competitive or sports-oriented games.
- A strong understanding of AI systems such as state machines, navigation, pathfinding, strategy and tactical modelling.
- Proven ability to create complex, believable AI behaviour that enhances player engagement.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with sports simulators, tactics, and team dynamics.
- Understanding of coordination, positioning, and strategic gameplay design.
