About this Position
We are looking for a Senior Backend Go Developer to join the team building the core backend systems for our next-generation AAA sports simulator. You will work on high-load services that power millions of player interactions, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
SportSpired Games is an international game studio developing next-generation sports simulators. Our team includes professionals with experience at Wargaming, MY·GAMES, The Walt Disney Company, Ubisoft, 343 Industries, Starbreeze, Sperasoft and EA Sports. We’re building an ambitious AAA title slated for release in 2028-2029.
Responsibilities
- Development and support of a game meta server, including authentication, a database of player profiles, matchmaking and integration with external systems such as Steam and telemetry.
- Participation in designing a data storage scheme for a database (OLAP/OLTP).
- Optimisation and scaling of the system for high loads.
- Writing and reviewing code.
- Interacting with related departments: DevOps, LiveOps, game designers and client programmers.
- Application of modern server application development practices, including testing, profiling and CI/CD.
Requirements
- Experience of working with containerisation systems such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- You will have at least 4 years' experience developing high-load distributed systems, including at least 2 years' experience with Go.
- A deep understanding of data structures, system design and software architecture principles.
- Ability to write productive code and understanding of algorithmic complexity (big-O analysis).
