About this Position

SportSpired Games is looking for a Senior Meta Game Designer to help shape the long-term player experience of our next-generation AAA sports simulator. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and evolving the game's meta layer, including progression systems, economy, events, social features, and monetization.

SportSpired Games is an international game studio developing next-generation sports simulators. Our team includes professionals with experience at Wargaming, MY·GAMES, The Walt Disney Company, Ubisoft, 343 Industries, Starbreeze, Sperasoft and EA Sports. We’re building an ambitious AAA title slated for release in 2028-2029.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and iterate on core meta-game systems, including progression, events, rewards, player activities, and long-term engagement mechanics
  • Balance and evolve the in-game economy for different player cohorts and playstyles
  • Design monetization systems focused on sustainable player engagement and long-term product health
  • Contribute to the development of social features, including player interaction systems, communication tools, and community-driven mechanics
  • Improve player experience through close collaboration with UX specialists, including progression visualization, player customization, and feature accessibility
  • Create and maintain clear design documentation, covering system logic, dependencies, goals, balancing assumptions, and future scalability
  • Collaborate with the Lead Game Designer and other system designers to review, refine, and improve game features
  • Work closely with analytics, product, design, and development teams to validate assumptions and improve systems through data-driven iteration
  • Support LiveOps planning by designing systems that can scale and evolve after launch

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of experience as a Game Designer with a strong focus on meta systems, preferably on PC, Console, or complex Mobile titles
  • Deep understanding of free-to-play meta-game design, including progression, economy, retention, engagement, and player return mechanics
  • Practical experience designing and balancing progression systems, reward structures, collections, live events, and player engagement loops
  • Strong understanding of monetization models and their integration into live-service products
  • Experience working with player data, feedback, and product metrics to drive design decisions
  • Ability to formulate hypotheses, validate assumptions, and improve systems through iterative development
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with designers, programmers, UX/UI specialists, product managers, and analysts
  • Ability to create structured, concise, and well-documented design specifications and present design decisions to stakeholders
