SportSpired Games is an international game studio developing next-generation sports simulators. Our team includes professionals with experience at Wargaming, MY · GAMES, The Walt Disney Company, Ubisoft, 343 Industries, Starbreeze, Sperasoft and EA Sports. We’re building an ambitious AAA title slated for release in 2028–2029.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of character artists, assign tasks, and manage the production timelines.
- Mentor and support the professional development of team members, maintaining motivation and productivity.
- Design and deliver high-quality, photorealistic characters for an action game with cinematic standards.
- Ensure in-game characters meet gameplay and technical requirements.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the character production pipeline, including clothing, hair, and other character-related assets.
- Optimize tools and workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with technical artists, animators, designers, and other team members to ensure cohesive character production.
- Participate in discussions and decision-making to improve overall visual quality and gameplay.
- Maintain high standards for character quality through testing, review, and iteration.
- Actively gather feedback and implement improvements based on testing results and data analysis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a character artist in the game industry, with leadership responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, including its capabilities and limitations.
- A solid portfolio showcasing photorealistic in-game character models, especially human characters.
- Deep understanding of human anatomy and facial structure.
- Proficiency in creating realistic materials, hair, real-time clothing, and dynamic muscle systems.
- Proficiency in tools such as ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Maya, MotionBuilder, Blender or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of rigging and animation requirements for character models.
- Experience working with MetaHuman.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to effectively lead a team, organize workflows, and ensure timely delivery.
